as well as Babà al Limoncello and Rum, Crema di Limoncello and many other products. The real Limoncello of Sorrento is made using only lemons grown in the municipalities of the Sorrento peninsula and the island of Capri, thanks to scrupulous manufacturing procedures that reflect the traditional Sorrento recipe, and to a careful selection of the raw materials used. The Ovale di Sorrento has obtained the important European recognition of a product with Protected Geographical Indication (I.G.P.). In fact, this highly prized variety is cultivated only in these areas, which has remained unchanged over the centuries thanks to the Mediterranean climate of the Sorrento coast and the volcanic soil which favors the growth of lemons with thick and fragrant peel, rich in essential oils, which give the limoncello Sorrento an unmistakable flavour.
